How did Keylenz come about?

Keylenz's Kiwi inventor, Carrick Courtney, enjoyed 20/20 vision up until his early 40's when he began having trouble reading things up close. He developed long-sightedness (presbyopia) like many of us do at that age. Eventually, when his arms weren't long enough for him to see to read, he gave in to wearing reading glasses. That's when Carrick began sketching his concept for Keylenz: a high-quality emergency reading lens which would rotate in and out of a protective casing and would sit discreetly on key rings, belts, bags etc. He got the best New Zealand plastics designers to apply some serious optical physics to his concept; trademarked the Keylenz name; and took out patent- and design-protection. High quality, precision plastics manufacturing completed the picture - and the first Keylenz rolled off the production line in Auckland. Now Carrick doesn't have to worry about forgetting his glasses ever again - except for the time he locked his keys in his car...but that's another story! Banish the frustration - pop a Keylenz emergency reader on your key ring.
